A Connecticut official says nine people have died and two were wounded in a shooting at a beer distribution warehouse in Connecticut, Fox News has learned.

Police sources identified the gunman as Omar S. Thornton, whose body was found inside the warehouse where the shooting took place, Manchester Police Lt. Joe San Antonio said.

MOSCOW, July 20 (UPI) -- Russians are sweltering and dying in what is turning into their country's hottest summer in 130 years, officials say.

ITAR-Tass reported Tuesday Moscow recorded a record high of 95.4 degrees Fahrenheit Monday with forecasters predicting temperatures to rise above 100 by the weekend. The heat's been on for nearly a month and is expected to stick around through at least the end of July, the Russian news agency said.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- More than 2,000 cattle have died in Kansas from a recent mix of extreme heat, high humidity and little to no wind, according to the Kansas Department of Health and Environment.

The deaths mainly occurred from Thursday through Sunday at feeding operations among heavier cattle that were ready to be slaughtered, said Ken Powell, a KDHE environmental scientist. A single feedlot in south-central Kansas lost 400 head of cattle.
